Our Faculty
Necatibey Faculty of Education began teaching in 1910 under the name Karesi Darülmuallimin. The school moved to its current building in 1932, which was constructed during Mustafa Necati Bey's tenure as Minister of National Education, and has been known as Necati Teacher Training School since that date. Necatibey Faculty of Education continued to train teachers between 1932 and 1982 under the names Necati Teacher Training School, Necati Education Institute, and Necatibey Higher Teacher Training School. In 1982, with the establishment of the Higher Education Institution, it became affiliated with Uludağ University and took the name Necatibey Faculty of Education.
Necatibey Faculty of Education has been conducting its education and training activities as part of Balıkesir University since 1992. In the 2023-2024 academic year, the faculty has approximately 2,582 students enrolled in 7 departments and 14 major fields of study related to primary and secondary education. The faculty has physics, chemistry, biology, science, and computer laboratories, a conference hall, a graduate education classroom, a library, and a reading room. Necatibey Faculty of Education serves its students and staff with open and closed sports areas (tennis courts, basketball and volleyball courts, and a carpeted soccer field) located in its garden.
